If telling the truth from the beginning was not hard enough, you now need to create NEW lies to cover your old lies. The question becomes, “Do you ever get tired?”

Lies have no resemblance to anything positive. The person reasons their stories with, “Preserving ones feelings.” Just a brief NEWSFLASH; you are destroying them more with the lie told and it is digging a deeper hole for you to bury yourself in later.

Though telling the truth is known to destroy most friendships, it is easier on the respect level than telling an elaborate story just to make themselves look better. The truth not only, “sets you free” but it is known to build a STRONGER bond between both you and the person that you should be upfront and honest with.

It is true that it hurts like a deep wound but at least one can still heal from such a wound. If you continue to lie, it scabs over and picked at continuously; never quite allowing the time needed to heal properly.

Though reminded, “You must pick your battles” this does not mean that you are to turn your back on reality when it comes to trusting you and the ones that you care about. Keep in mind, telling 1 truth is easier to recall than telling 10 lies. The blanket used to cover the first lie is extremely transparent and many know this but you, apparently. Perhaps you have gone through life for so long telling lie after lie to the point, that IS your truth; what now?

Look back, how many people did you lose who you were NOT able to fool? How often have others distanced themselves from you after growing tired of your ways? In the end, your lies will always cost you MORE than you are willing to pay.
