Daym Drops his Private Journal Entries: locked up and hidden for YEARS!

Journal Entry: Dec. 2nd 2003

Journal let me fill you in playa.

Saturday had passed and Monday sprouted interesting drama at work.  For the last 5 months I have carried another Supervisor on my back. I was nice enough to stay late and help him out with paperwork, nice enough to work weekends for him when he should have been able to do it alone, nice enough to finish off his paperwork the following day when he could not figure out how to balance the numbers and nice enough to allow him to stay this long!

The well had to run dry eventually! I do not carry people for too long. I will help you get on your feet and allow for you to eat from my plate until I feel you have enough strength to get by on your own. If you keep coming back for handouts, eventually you will force my hand and I am not one to make bad calls.

Saturday I came in around my usual time, 5:30am. I counted the lumber; then submitted both my lumber and KPI reports. The time is 6:20 a.m. I got on-line at work to burn some time until my crew came in at 7. The second shift supervisor came in 7:23am. WOW, he actually came to work on a Saturday??? I was shocked!

Since the morning paperwork was submitted; I told him what needed to be done and I decided to leave and enjoy my Saturday for once. I left him with my cell phone number for when he had any questions or was close to closing for the day. This way I could return and send the end of shift paperwork.

He had called me around 11:23am. All of the trailers he could check in and unload were completed but he did not meet my minimum requirements as of yet and so I told him to unload two more trailers, then I said that I would be in shortly to help finish up. Everything was going according to plan but this man made a mistake.

I get to work around 11:56am and they are wrapping everything up. I am now in my office putting together some numbers to pass the time. With everything completed alongside of cleanup by 1:25pm; this fool is walking about in the office cussing and carrying on. I walk out and ask him what the problem is. He proceeded to tell me that he had forgotten about the phone call he received earlier that day about the last two trailers. They did not have authorization numbers and could not be processed until Monday. Now he really messed up! The only thing was work around it the best way possible.

Monday morning the Plant Manager arrived and we spoke about Saturdays issues. Needless to say he was not too happy but he knew what to do. It is not my job to look after another grown man when we already drawn the conclusion he had eaten rather nicely off of my labor to correct his errors for sometime now. At times it is better to simply cut your losses and move on.

To make a long journal short, this supervisor received yet another write-up for his file. Of course he wanted a scapegoat but I do not play that nonsense! You are 36 years old and you cannot seem to recall a phone call you had received only an hour or so prior to unloading trailers that you were not supposed to? Your stupidity is not my shortcoming! Of course I laid it down in a professional way at the roundtable but overall he still had to sign the disciplinary action.

I will tell you now, this will be the first and last time I allow for somebody to eat from my plate. Ol’ boy was seeing his bonus just as I am. The difference is the fact I earned it, he simply co signed to what I had allowed to look good for him.

 End.

Stay tuned: I will release a new “Bonus Goody” every other week or so.
