Remember when you used to stay awake all night talking on the phone until one of you fell asleep? Honestly, you stayed awake just to hear them breathing on the other end but now text messages replaced talking and even texting does not happen that often.

Just to impress her; you would open every door, pull out her chair and place her order all because you were familiar with her eating habits. Now she can barely recall the last time you gave a damn about being THAT individual.

The two of you still hear the jokes from your friends about how often you would finish each others sentences to the point it sickened those who were in failing relationships, unhappily single and those who secretly admired what both of you shared. As of recent, you are lucky if your significant other is even listening most of the time.

In the same office where you would receive flowers, gifts and “thinking about you” cards is now a waiting room. You wait and watch as others who are just starting a relationship and those who are still maintaining love, receive those thoughtful gestures from your past. Often you sit and wonder if those days will ever be resurrected? (deep sigh)

The days where a kiss would last a lifetime is no more than a forgotten peck upon departure. You exist in a cold relationship; where bliss has frozen over and passion lays to rest with only a shattered soul to blanket an ongoing lackluster experience.
